Three new Redland Art Gallery exhibitions are sure to appeal to a broad audience, with animals, flowers and landscapes featured across different mediums.
Redland City Acting Mayor Julie Talty said the three exhibitions opening in June would allow visitors to engage with art in meaningful ways.
“Redland Art Gallery offers an exhibition program that ensures the community has access to the highest quality artworks and is exposed to artists and art they might not otherwise have access to,” Cr Talty said.
“One of the new exhibitions, Drawing Animal, brings together artworks from the Redland Art Gallery Collection.
“The Collection features more than 750 artworks produced by more than 250 artists and it is always exciting when a selection of those works are grouped together for an exhibition.
“There is also a photographic series, titled BLOOM, where the Brisbane artist has drawn inspiration from common plants found in his garden.
“I’m sure these works will appeal to anyone with an interest in photography or gardening.
“The third exhibition, Mountain No Mountain, makes use of digital technologies such as 3D scans and digital images and text to explore Australian landscapes.
“The works involve complex digital layering, creating fantastical and yet real images of the landscape.
“I encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity provided by these three exhibitions to immerse in art and to gain a slightly different view of the world in which we live.”

The exhibition raises environmental concerns while inviting viewers to reflect on our complex and often overlooked relationships with the animal world.
Artists featured include Yuriyal Bridgeman, Elisa Jane Carmichael and Sonja Carmichael, Belinda Close, Michael Cook, Marian Drew, Joachim Froese, Naomi Hobson, Carol McGregor, Paula Irene Payne, Brian Robinson and Pamela See.
Panel Talk with some of the artists: Sunday 21 June at 10am.

Mountain No Mountain by Si Yi Shen
Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland from Sunday 21 June to Tuesday 25 August
In Mountain No Mountain, the artist documents her travels across Australia, mapping not only the places she encounters but also her inner reflections. She deconstructs and reassembles fragments – images, text, emojis, audio, 3D scans and digital snippets – into layered works that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination.
Her artworks offer an original way of thinking about the self, our surroundings and how we connect and adapt in a globalised world.
