Redlands Coast community organisations and individuals can now apply for funding for projects through Redland City Council’s 2024-2025 Community Grants program.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said the grants were available to support a wide variety of initiatives aimed at strengthening the Redlands Coast community.

“Council is proud to be able to support local groups and individuals with projects that deliver clear benefits to the community,” the Mayor said.

“Many of these projects are initiated and managed primarily by volunteers.

“Last financial year Council supported 50 local projects with Community Grants totalling more than $310,000.

“This included funding for a program of activities to engage young people through to support for a wildlife bird carer.

“Council also supported community, sporting, service and charity organisations with funding to update constitutions and bylaws, facilitate volunteer training and upskilling, and assist with event planning.

“The Community Grants program can support a diverse range of initiatives and I encourage anyone with a project that can deliver benefits to the broader community to apply before applications close on 1 September 2024.”

Community Grants are available in three categories:

  • Organisation support – up to $5000 to improve organisational governance and management practices and the organisation’s capacity to deliver services
  • Project support – up to $10,000 for one-off projects, events or activities
  • Conservation grants – up to $10,000 for specific projects that will provide positive outcomes for the environment and wildlife.
