Council services holiday closures

All non-essential Council services will close Monday 24 December 2018 from close of business, and reopen Wednesday 2 January 2019. This includes Customer Service Centres, Redland Art Gallery (Cleveland and Capalaba) and mainland libraries. After hours emergency number: 3829 8999

Redland Performing Arts Centre Box Office will be closed will be closed from 4.00pm on Monday 24 December 2018 and will re-open 10am Monday 7 January 2019. RPAC will open for scheduled PolArt 2018 performances during this time. Tickets for early 2019 performances may be booked on the Redland Performing Arts Centre website during the closure.

Redlands IndigiScapes

Redlands IndigiScapes and Visitor Information Centre (including Tea Garden cafe) will be closed Christmas Day only.

RecycleWorld

RecycleWorld will be closed from 22 December 2018, reopening Saturday 5 January 2019.

Redland Animal Shelter

Animal Shelter will be closed Christmas Day only. Limited hours apply (9am-12pm) from 24 December 2017 until 2 January 2018.

Libraries

Capalaba, Cleveland and Victoria Point Libraries closed from 5pm Monday 24 December until 9am Wednesday 2 January. 

  • The community piano will be located in the Cleveland Library during Council’s Christmas closure.

Amity Point Library: Closed from 11:30am Saturday 22 December until 9am Wednesday 2 January

Dunwich Library: Closed from 11:30am Saturday 22 December until 1pm Thursday 3 January

Point Lookout Library: Closed from 5pm Friday 21 December until 9am Wednesday 2 January

Russell Island Library: Closed from 1pm Saturday 22 December until 9.30am Wednesday 2 January

Mobile Library closure: Last stop will be Bluebell Street Shops, Alexandra Hills closing at 4pm Friday 21 December and will reopen on Wednesday 2 January 9.30am at Redland Bay.

During closures, no items will be due and return chutes will be closed.

Waste transfer stations and collection services

Waste transfer stations will be closed Christmas Day only.

Waste collection services will continue as usual, with Christmas Day bin collections beginning 5am. Please make sure your bins are out the night before. Online bin requests submitted after Friday 21 December 2018 will not be actioned until business resumes on Wednesday 2 January 2019.
