From exceptional live performers to adventure sports demonstrations and mini games, there will be activities for all ages to enjoy at Redland City Council’s AdventureFest Fun Day on Saturday 17 May 2025.
The free event at Raby Bay Harbour Park from 10am-5pm will be held on the first weekend of Council’s inaugural Redlands Coast AdventureFest, a city-wide festival of activations and community events.
The Fun Day will offer adventure, entertainment and rides celebrating the festival’s key themes: active, family, artistic, nature, culinary and wellness adventures.
The entertainment on stage includes The Idol Family, which consists of three members of the same family Chris Ah Gee, JaZZella and Jinja Blue, who each secured spots in the Top 30 in this year’s Australian Idol.
Other performers include Brisbane musician Daniel J. Lewis and local dream-rock band Lucid Safari.
There will be plenty of other activities for all ages at the event, including adrenaline-pumping experiences, adventure sports demonstrations, a jetpack water show and wildlife presentations.
There will also be celebrity interviews by Council’s Principal Adviser – Community Education Ranger Stacey Thomson, culinary experiences, kids’ activities, mini games, information stalls and giveaways.
Redlands Coast AdventureFest will be held over 10 days from 16 to 25 May 2025 to showcase Redlands Coast as an adventure destination.
It will include active and outdoors events such as the annual Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival, a tree climbing competition for arborists, trail run, mountain biking event and State hillclimbing championship.
There will be activities for those seeking more relaxed adventures, including a water lantern festival, culinary tastings, art workshops, museum tours, night sky viewing and guided walks exploring naturally wonderful Redlands Coast.
There will also be events and activities held at Council venues.
This includes artistic adventures such as drawing and art activities at Redland Art Gallery and music and comedy performances at Redland Performing Arts Centre.
Council libraries have organised a trivia adventure, circus workshop and talks by real-life adventurers.
Redlands IndigiScapes Centre is offering nature adventures, with Ranger Stacey leading a walk to King Island as well as a koala spotting walk at Victoria Point.
