Redlands Coast readers can now reserve items to collect outside of library operating hours with new 24-7 lockers available outside Cleveland Library.

The free service is provided by Redland City Council and will be especially convenient for workers and carers who are unable to visit Council’s three mainland libraries or mobile library during operating hours.

The lockers are located outside of the Cleveland Library at the corner of Bloomfield and Middle Streets in Cleveland.

Mayor Jos Mitchell said the lockers made the already easy online hold/reservation system even simpler.

“Council is continually updating and improving our community library collections, systems and access to resources,” she said.

“These lockers are a convenient additional service to allow even greater all-hours access for busy people.”

Division 2 Councillor Peter Mitchell said the lockers were another great option for library users.

“The flexibility provided by this choice should really help those library lovers with very busy lives needing the convenience of an all-hours collection,” Cr Mitchell said.

After reserving an item for pickup, customers will receive a notification when the item is available for collection at the lockers. The same library borrowing and renewing guidelines apply to all locker reservations.

Cleveland, Capalaba and Victoria Point libraries are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. Operating hours for North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) and Russell Island libraries, are available at redland.qld.gov.au

The Cleveland Library lockers are accessible 24-7. To reserve a library item to pick up at the lockers, log in to your account on the library catalogue or via the library app.

Redland City Council provides a suite of services to 166,873 residents and more than 63,000 residential households across Redlands Coast. Our naturally wonderful city on Quandamooka Country is home to more than 335 kilometres of coastline, six island communities and 12 mainland suburbs.
