The first phase of a staged refurbishment at Cleveland Aquatic Centre – an upgrade of the male change rooms and amenities – is now complete.

The upgrade included repainting the walls, replacing flooring materials, and installing new toilets, partitions, handbasins and showers.

The facility will reopen on Thursday 9 November for female use while the female amenities are being refurbished.

Males will continue to use the portable change rooms and toilets on site until the amenities upgrade is completed, which is expected by the end of November, weather permitting.

Council is planning for other infrastructure upgrades and routine maintenance works at the aquatic centre, including repainting the building exteriors and concrete paths, replacing sections of perimeter fencing, and maintenance on the pool pumps and filters.
