Redland City Council is holding an information session to support local businesses interested in exploring export and trade opportunities to India.

Abhinav Bhatia, Trade and Investment Queensland’s Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for South Asia, will share insights into export and trade opportunities arising from the Australia-India Free Trade Agreement and Queensland-India Trade and Investment Strategy.

Mayor Karen Williams said the free event in Redland Bay on Friday 6 October would provide local businesses with information on how to become both ‘India ready’ and ‘export ready’.

“This is an excellent opportunity for business owners and leaders to learn how they can grow by exploring the ever-expanding Indian market,” she said.

“Mr Bhatia is a respected business leader based in India and he will share information on how to successfully navigate the intricacies of the Indian market and highlight opportunities that await entrepreneurs and investors.”

The event will include a Q&A session, networking and, for those wishing to pursue further trade and export opportunities, information on India’s premier business summit, Vibrant Gujarat, to be held in January 2024.

Cr Williams said the information session was an example of how Council supported the business community on Redlands Coast.

“Council works with key stakeholders, including state and federal governments, to help local businesses grow, sharing information and removing barriers to doing business,” she said.

“This includes a concierge service for businesses wishing to establish on Redlands Coast, providing tailored business support to guide businesses through processes and approvals, offer market insights and support access to grants and funding.

“Council also organises regular networking forums such as Business Brews where manufacturers come together to network and hear about the latest industry directions and training opportunities.”

The ‘Learn about export and trade opportunities to India’ information session will be held at SES Redland Bay in Redlands Business Park, 44 Jardine Drive on Friday 6 October 2023 from 8am to 10am.

Registrations are essential via eventbrite.com.au
