Redlands Coast has plenty of school holiday activities for kids to keep boredom at bay this June and July.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said Council was offering a wide range of events and activities designed to appeal to children of all ages and interests during the holidays.
“From live theatre and an online manga workshop to first aid for children or metalsmithing, we’re making school holidays a creative and entertaining time for ages five to 16,” Cr Williams said.

“IndigiScapes has a great range of outdoor fun planned, including Play Rangers Mud Play and orienteering with Scouts Queensland.
“Curious kids will be fascinated by Fauna Forensics and Hollow-dependent Species, both presented by Geckoes Wildlife as part of the IndigiScapes school holiday program.”
Favourite children’s books come to life at RPAC with three fun and magical performances that will leave the kids (the big ones too) smiling long after the show ends.
“These lively stage adaptations of Australian classics Possum Magic and Are we there yet? and the perennial Dr Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat will transport the audience to another world,” Cr Williams said.
“This is a wonderful introduction to live theatre for the younger members of the family.
“The regular Flipside Circus workshops will also be held at RPAC in the second week of the holidays, where children from four to 16 years can learn circus and acrobatic skills.”
Redland Art Gallery at Cleveland will be hosting two creative workshops, with a mug making session for five to 10 year-olds and a contemporary jewellery workshop for 11 to 17 year-olds.
These creative make-and-take sessions aim to draw inspiration from exhibitions Green Sky, Orange Clouds, Purple Rain by Jordan Azcune and View from the Edge by Paula Irene Payne.
Cr Williams said mainland Council libraries at Cleveland, Victoria Point and Capalaba would also offer activities for all ages groups.
“Budding Lego masters can test their skills in a series of fast, creative challenges, and aspiring engineers can build a satellite and spy-bot at Saturday STEAM sessions,” she said.
“We have a basic First Aid session for kids, which will be a great first introduction to essential lifesaving skills.”
Craft sessions will be happening at all three libraries, while Little Foot, a family movie for all ages, will screen at Victoria Point Library on Saturday 8 July (no bookings needed).
