“We can all play our part this Christmas by supporting local business and choosing unique and eco-friendly products.

“At the Eco Markets there will be stalls offering a wide range of hand-crafted items, sustainable giftware, native plants and fresh produce.

“If you are looking for inspiration for natural gift ideas, there will be a talk on sustainable garden giving such as plants, herbs and fresh produce.

“There will also be a workshop on how to make unique and sustainable wrapping paper, gift bags and cards using natural materials, which is a wonderful way to add an individual touch this Christmas.

“If you’re looking for some unique Christmas-themed decorations using natural fibres, you can join an open weaving circle guided by Minjerribah, Southern Moreton Bay Island and volunteer Bushcare artists and weavers.

“Drop by and have a chat with Council’s Environment and Education team to learn more about our environmental programs, and say hi to our community education advisor Ranger Stacey who will be visible on the day, on both the main stage and throughout the markets.”

“There will also be a suitcase rummage and rack sale, worm farms, and information on composting and recycling.

“Artisan market stalls will be selling everything from rock paintings, eco-friendly kitchen products, ceramics and headbands to bee products, herbal and natural skincare, dog treats and accessories, and heat packs.

“For the children there is messy play, energetic outdoor garden play, and native flora and fauna face painting.

“Patrons will be spoilt for food choices with stalls selling vegan food, donuts, potato twisters, baked treats, a sausage sizzle, juices and coffee.”
