Council and the Quandamooka People have strengthened their partnership through a number of events during National Reconciliation Week (27 May- 3 June).

Standing Together: The Art of Reconciliation saw Council engage local Aboriginal artists to work with community members to create artwork symbolising reconciliation, rights and respect. Some stunning artworks were created, with the entire collection to be officially unveiled during NAIDOC week in July.

On Wednesday 3 June Council and QYAC unveiled the Quandamooka Statement of Recognition at Redland city Council’s Cleveland Administration Building. The statement is displayed on two panels at the front of the Council building along with beautiful artwork from local artist Sandra Delaney.
