Redland City Council is again offering a great range of activities to keep local kids and parents happy these school holidays.

Council’s Community and Cultural Services spokesperson Cr Lance Hewlett said the list included library, art, environmental and skateboarding activities.

“Delivered through Council’s Redland Libraries, Redland Art Gallery, Redlands IndigiScapes Centre and Strengthening Communities teams, there’s a great range of activities to suit all school ages,” Cr Hewlett said.

“From spotlighting and earth exploring, to art workshops, library craft mornings and authors’ talks, there’s something to keep all kids entertained over the two-week break.

“We are also offering skateboarding workshops at Capalaba, Dunwich and Macleay Island in the second week of school holidays, which will be a great chance for young people to learn some new tricks with Skate Boarding Australia.

“All activities are low-cost or free, though many require bookings, so I encourage parents to enquire early so they don’t miss a spot.”

The school holiday program includes:

• For nature-lovers: earth exploring, creatures of the dark spotlighting and Bats at the Black Swamp activities.

• For art enthusiasts: beading workshops at the library and Redland Art Gallery workshops with artist Colin Offord

• For thrill-seekers: skateboarding workshops

• For bookworms: story corner, crafty stories and jungle story time fun activities.

The full list of activities including dates, times, costs (if applicable) and booking information can be found on Council’s School Holidays What’s On Calendar.
