Point Lookout residents are asked to restrict their water usage to kitchen and bathroom uses overnight after a loss of all water from the Point Lookout Water Treatment Plant to the local reservoir.

Redland City Council has advised the reservoir has dropped from its usual 80-100 per cent full to only 20 per cent.

It is asking all Point Lookout residents and visitors to limit water use to uses such as drinking, cooking, flushing toilets, washing if required, and other critical uses.

There should be no outside usage of water such as watering or cleaning.

Crews have been sent to the island to determine the cause of the loss of water.
