Residents can help provide homes for our local koala population by taking part in the annual Koala Community Planting on Sunday 4 May.
Council’s environmental spokesperson Cr Paul Gleeson said the initiative would see 1,000 trees planted to expand the Moogurrapum Creek Corridor for the furry friends of Redland Bay.
“This is a great way residents can help provide future homes for the Redlands’ favourite furry friend the koala,” he said.

“With one of the most significant urban koala population in Australia, the Redlands plays an important role in koala survival nationally. Our Koala Community Planting event is now in its seventh year and has helped plant more than 10,000 trees for Redlands’ koala population.
“The event is a great day out for families and will include a free sausage sizzle after the planting event and native plants will be available to take home to make your backyard that little bit more animal friendly.”
