Straddie bushfire update – Saturday 11 January

Blue Lake, Keyholes and Alfred Martin Way at Straddie, have reopened today after nearly two weeks of bushfires. Brown Lake is still closed.

UPDATE North #Stradbroke Island. Crews remain on scene at multiple fires burning on North Stradbroke Island. Today crews will water bomb a slow burning fire located near Native Companion Lagoon. Crews are also fighting a small fire in the vicinity of Brown Lake. Multiple firefighters are patrolling older fires on the island to ensure they remain contained and dampening down. These fires are not threatening any properties. Motorists in the area are advised to drive with caution.
