Redland City Mayor Karen Williams is reminding residents they still have until 7 June to comment on the progress implementing the Redlands 2030 Community Plan, adopted in 2010 after extensive community engagement.

“While no longer required by the Local Government Act 2009, the Redlands 2030 Community Plan remains an important strategic document for outlining the future vision for the Redlands,” Cr Williams said.

“It has provided a guide to Council’s strategic planning and an important reference point for the values that our community holds as important in our city’s future.

“I encourage residents, businesses and community organisations to share their views by completing the online survey through Council’s website.

“Printed surveys are also available at any of Council’s Customer Service Centres or libraries for people wanting to make a written submission.

“Several reports are also available on Council’s website outlining the progress of the on the Redlands 2030 Community Plan to date.

“Six of the 12 breakthrough projects identified in the Plan are on track, three need more attention, one has been put on hold, and two need more monitoring.

“The Redlands 2030 Community Plan is a living document and not simply a rigid blueprint.

“It is important that we monitor and review the implementation of the plan to ensure our actions align with the community’s long term vision.

“This survey allows for feedback and an opportunity for the community to submit ideas on new priorities that may have emerged since 2010.”
