Healthy Waterways People’s Choice Award
Vote for us online!
Redland City Council has been announced as a finalist in two categories of the Queensland 2013 Healthy Waterways Awards! Our Waterways Recovery Program is a finalist for the Sustainable Development Award. This program involved six years of monitoring, evaluation and reporting on Redland City waterways.

It also incorporates targeted investigations, trials, works and collaborative community waterway projects. This effort led to our best ever regional report card result. Our Floating Wetlands Project is a finalist for the Product and Manufacturing Award. This project is a trial to see the effects on water quality by installing low-cost ‘do-it-yourself’ wetlands on private property and small scale commercial wetlands on council water bodies.

Both projects have required collaboration between other government organisations, business, landowners and community volunteers. We share this success with everyone involved and thank them for their efforts. Both projects are also eligible for the Healthy Waterways People’s Choice Award. You can vote for them online.
