Sewer inspection works – Victoria Point

Redland Water has started urgent work to inspect the sanitary sewers in the Victoria Point area. This work aims to indentify sources of water infiltration to the sewerage network during wet weather. This infiltration causes excessive load on the pumping and treatment infrastructure.

The inspection will be carried out using Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment – a non-invasive method that does not require any excavation. Council will need to enter some properties in Victoria Point in order to access sewer maintenance holes and insert and retrieve the CCTV equipment.

When seeking to enter private properties, Council officers and contractors will carry official identification and take care to ensure minimal disruption to residents.
